Plot

A Boy Called Christmas is a twist on the classic story: it talks about Father Christmas's childhood, and how he went from being an ordinary boy to a household name, and a symbolic part of Christmas.

Nicholas lives in a tiny cottage in a forest in Finland. His father is a woodcutter, and one day he is asked on an expedition to prove that elves are real. Nicholas misses his father terribly, and stuck at home with his Aunt Carlotta, Nicholas decides to do something radical to get him back...

Illustrations

A Boy Called Christmas is illustrated by Chris Mould. I find the pictures really capture the characters, and I love how detailed they are!

Good Things About the Book

  • A Boy Called Christmas is easy to read, and is a relatively short book (only 266 pages), so you don't necessarily have to commit a huge amount of time to reading it
  • I loved how detailed the fantasy world Nicholas lives in is
  • The humour isn't forced

Things I didn't enjoy
Nothing!

Conclusion
Overall, this is a great book, and I would recommend it to all ages.
